Turtle Tuesday: Words for 2010

Meet B, the New Year's turtle. (Her eyes are still red from staying up past midnight! )

B noticed many of you have chosen a 'word' for 2010. Not to b outdone, B, the New Year's turtle has a whole sentence to share. smiles

This dropped from above as B pondered the New Year.

How many people can you touch?

These words immediately directed B's thoughts off her turtle self to the world around her! The Lord was asking B to consider OTHERS. He wanted her red eyes to b focused on His purpose. B is thankful the Lord wants her to see clearly. Nothing like a drop of 'spiritual Visine' to kick off 2010! B, the New Year's turtle is on the lookout for people crossing her path. Who can she help, love, encourage, and reach out to with His touch TODAY? Not tomorrow. Today. B's looking up for direction. I pray this year you and B will not miss all the todays given to us.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Phil 2: 3-5

  8. B I have to say that when I saw that picture, the first thing that popped into my head was those little troll dolls that were popular in the 60's and 70's. I think it is the hair. I think it will be a great year for all of us. As usual you posted a great message.

  9. A worthy question...

Considering I spend most days indoors, I have to be extra creative about my outward "touching of lives."

Touch well and touch often, sister. Our God is well-pleased with your offering.

  10. Turtles can fly? Now that's exciting news, B!

I agree that God wants us to be focused on others. It's certainly what you do regularly. Thanks for this word of encouragement.

    And Happy New Year!

  16. The JOY girl here can't take credit for this because Yolanda told it to me yesterday - that her friend is choosing J-O-Y for the New Year with the words:

Jesus - Others - before Yourself.

That whole concept is what Jesus called us to in the two N.T. commandments that sum up the O.T. ten! I want to touch lives in a way that will have an impact for God and His kingdom purposes!

Love this post! And today I am OVERJOYED [again] by His ABUNDANT BLESSINGS over me!

    Choosing J-O-Y too, Stephanie

  20. Contrary to what pop psychology often teaches, putting others before oneself CAN bring peace and happiness. There is too much "me first" being promoted, methinks!

  23. Great blog post B! I'm so the late bloomer but learning that God's timing is not a mistake on how things have unfolded. Being purposeful and in all things we will touch people's lives - who so need to know about God's hope! I will use the Letter "M" for my name Melinda and join you as "Murtle". LOL !!
