Turtle Tuesdays: The Obedient Turtle

video

Meet B, the bobble head turtle. I hope you will check out her latest video. She has really been working on her moves....lots of sticking her neck out of her shell. Make no mistake about it... B is not doing the 'Walk like An Egyptian' dance here. This is a 'Walking by Faith' daily dance on her video. Dressed in her shiny white shell, B looks like she could be wearing wedding attire. She is preparing for that moment. Her eyes are fixed on Jesus and her answer is exactly what the song says . "Yes, Lord!" You see, B has been invited to a bigger pond where the water is deep. She wants to move to that place. Deep calls to deep. B thinks all turtles have a spot reserved for them there, but most never venture beyond the shallow water.

B wanted to ask you a question if she can b so bold. If your dance was on You Tube, what would it look like? Are you bobbling in the shallow water? Which direction is your head shaking? Are you moving to the place He has called you? Sometimes we need to repostition ourselves. We are in a rut.

The Lord spoke to B a couple of years ago about deep water. He brought up His disciple Peter. "B, do you know why Peter walked on the water with me?" He whispered. When 'The Teacher' of all teachers asks a question, we are usually not so quick to give our pat answers, lest we appear more dull :) B kept quiet and listened for His answer.

The Holy Spirit said "He saw ENOUGH on land." Then He added , "So have you!" Peter saw enough to step out into a place that in the natural wasn't possible. Jesus ask the same of all of us. It's true, B has seen enough. B had to say 'Yes, Lord...I have." There is no turning back now. I hear His call. I have to go. Deep is calling to deep.

Here is an important question on this Turtle Tuesday.

Have you seen enough? Your actions are your answer to the
question. If you have, your head is boppin' Yes Lord' too! You know you can't stay where
you are and b where He wants you to b. If you hang out in Egypt and 'walk like
an Egyptian', you will miss your promised land. I can't think of a greater
regret!

As B drove her youngest turtle to school this morning, she turned on the radio. The song 'I Hope You Dance' started playing. B felt the Presence of the Lord in her shell. He was talking to her and to you. A message to all the turtle girls and others reading this: I hope you dance the 'walking by faith' dance for Jesus today. Deep is calling you! Say "Yes Lord!"

Turtle Tuesdays: The New Model

Meet B, the Magnifying Turtle.

I bet you have never seen a turtle with a sun roof before. Nice huh!

B traded in her old shell a few years ago and got a new model. The sun roof came with it. Now she always travels in the light.

I know some of you are wondering how many miles per gallon B gets in her new shell. Mileage is a hot topic these days. Many turtles are worried about the oil supply. Not B! She's going places. Her model came equipped with everything she needs for her travels. All she has to do is Ask, Seek, and Knock and she has exactly what she needs. Who would want to travel any other way? B also has a special finish coat on her sun roof. Her shell not only lets light in so she can see, but it magnifyies the maker of her shell. Jesus, the name above all names. If your still walking in darkness, trade UP. Get the Son inside. He's the REAL DEAL !

Check out B's bumper sticker:
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Ps 119:105 NIV

Turtle Tuesdays: Choosing the Right Spectacles!

Meet B, the turtle with the rose colored glasses. She is a Pet Shop turtle from Target. A friend gave me B after hearing a speech for my Toastmasters Club. You see, this B is a speaker and she is always looking for places to share her gift.

The speech she was giving was her 'big' one, the one that requires you to stick your neck out. No hiding in your turtle shell! You can't just talk about this subject, you have to walk the talk.
My speech title:
Walking By Faith Down Aisle 15

B talked about looking at the world through rose colored glasses. B knew all about that. She wore these glasses for years! They filtered the 'Son' light from her eyes. She couldn't see all the colors. She had no idea what she was missing.

One day B saw a blinding light that left her awe struck! Her rose colored glasses did not work anymore. They lost their appeal. She put on her God colored glasses. Now she sees many colors.

B keeps this picture of herself wearing the rose colored glasses as a testimony of her 'before' look. Most turtles who see her now would never believe how blinded she was by the world's rose colored glasses! Looking through the right lens makes the world look different.

That's this turtle girl's story for today... I was blind but now I see!" John 9:25

Turtle Tuesdays: Leaping With Joy

Meet B, the joyful turtle. She really is full of joy. Sometimes her joy is so big she starts leaping on the log. Imagine a Carly Patterson style leap! (Well, I did say imagine :) Turtles see her joy and wonder where it comes from. She shares with the other turtles that joy is a gift from God. At times, the log she lives life on is more like a rolling balance beam. Most turtles wouldn't expect to see leaping when the waves are crashing over her head. B leaps anyway. She remembers these words:

Consider it pure joy , my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3

B's joy isn't a reflection of her circumstances. Her joy is reflected in her circumstances!

The LORD is my strength and my shield;my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Ps 28:77
