Turtle Tuesdays: The Linked Turtle

Welcome to Turtle Tuesdays. Each week, I feature a turtle from my collection and share her story. Sometimes we stay on the surface of the water; other times we go deeper. I totally have fun with this! I hope you do too.
Meet B, the linked turtle.

B loves pictures. She thought it would b fun to have you finish her post today. (Okay, to b really honest , B has a speaking engagement to focus on. )Write a caption for each photo or one short story. *** There are 3 photos in this post. ***B will get a couple of 'independent turtle judges' to select a winner. She will send you a prize in a Box! She doesn't know what that will b yet, but B promises it will b better than what you get in Crackerjacks. You don't have to have a blog to enter. Just leave your email in case you win. Have fun with this. B creative. This contest is open until the end of the day Friday. B His Girl

  1. This looks like fun. (maybe) :)

I need a little clarification. Do you want two short stories, one for each picture? Or just one short story that covers both pictures?

  2. I would say for the first one, that a caption like;

With God no chains can hold us down. Might be appropriate.

For the second one, I would put; When life gets you down, remember that God has a plan.

    This was fun.

  3. Hi Edie

There are three photos. You can write a short story about B using the 3 photos as your inspiration or you could write a cartoon like 'caption' style comment for each photo. B's flexible on this :)

  6. Here's mine:

…sometimes when ”jes hangin’ here”, I get impatient wanting to be on all fours getting somewhere…maybe not quickly…but at least getting somewhere other than here.

…sometimes while “jes hangin here”, I look at the blessings He’s given me and I want to rush forward to get MORE.

…sometimes while “jes hangin’ here”, He speaks to me and reminds me of His Word, in Psalm 91, “He has shielded me from deadly hazards” and “rescued me from hidden traps”.

…always while “jes hangin’ here”, I thank Him, knowing how He has blessed me, and I love “jes hangin’ here”.

(i jumped over from Greg's store...i love turtles!)

  11. B. or 'Lil B, as Grandma Turtle caller her, was a trusting soul. She was a sensitive child, and she spent her days strolling around the crick where her family lived.

She spent a lot of time by herself--her parents loved her, but they were consumed with their own worries and fears.

As she rambled slowly, she desperately wanted to connect. I mean, afterall, what was that chain attached to her shell for? It had to have a purpose?

The sad part of it all was that she tended to attach herself to the wrong things--thinking that was the purpose of the chain.

First, she thought if only she could find a "best girl friend"---someone she could share all her thoughts with, laugh with. Someone who would want to be her friend--no matter what.

After attaching to a special friend, she found herself disappointed. That "friend" mocked her in front of the other turtles in the crick. I guess she couldn't be trusted 100% of the time afterall.

So, 'Lil B detached herself, and moved on, grew up, and just couldn't help but feel that she needed to be attached--somehow, someway.

Finally, 'Lil B thought she found what belonged at the end of her chain. It just so happened to be a good lookin' turtle--and this B stood for BOY!!

After awhile, they attached, and 'Lil B gave herself completely to 'B Stands for Boy'. It was sad though, because after awhile, our turtle just felt sad and used and that chain that was supposed to connect in a good way, felt more like a chain around her neck.

After much heartache, 'Lil B went home to the crick and met her Grandmother with a hug.

Grandma told her about One who would love her unconditionally and forever. One who she could attach herself to that would never let her down. One who would bestow a crown of glory on her 'Lil turtle head and blow away the ashes that had accumulated on her back.

'Lil B willingly jumped--or slowly jumped, that is--into the arms of her God. He attached--and soddered her chain to Himself with a bond that would last forever.

As 'Lil B and God spent time together, she expressed regret for the time she searched for her acceptance in other places, and with other people.

God assured her that He had a perfect plan for that 'Lil turtle life--and it was a perfect plan for 'Lil B. They called it PLAN B.

  12. Little Turtle, B's mouth is open...she's scared. It's scary just barely hanging on!

She asks God to help her and His presence fills her yet, still, she hangs. She struggles daily with hanging in the balance. This isn't how she wanted her life to be. She cries out to God and He keeps her safe but she worries what others will think when they see her just sitting there, hanging out.

But, why does He let her hang? Why doesn't He allow her to get down and go somewhere?

Oh! She finally looks down and sees the trap, a hole.

Now, her mouth is smiling and singing praises to God. There is blessed contentment to hang when you know it's because He's protecting you. God always has a good plan, B.

"B still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth...For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Psalm 46:10 & Jeremiah 29:11

  13. Wow, I am impressed with all of your stories and captions. Thank you. B is encouraged by your participation. B is thinking about what goes in the box : ) My judges are going to be my 12 year old son who often helps name my turtles and my grown up friend B, the artist. This B could never pick just one winner. There is still time to enter!
