Turtle Tuesdays: B's PILOT

Meet B, the Turtle With A PILOT.
If you're thinkin' the B log might be an advertisement, ease your finger off that mouse. Today on Turtle Tuesday B wants to share one of her traveling stories with you:
How B the Turtle Got 'Stuck' On A PILOT

It was a bright and sunny day. All was well in the land of Florida. B was talking to the Big BOX turtle in her household. She's quite fond of him, despite his little bit of 'snapping' .( Just checking to see if you read the B log, baby. You don't really snap.) He made a comment about B's transportation and that's how this can of worms opened. It was a 'sticky' situation.

You need to know this about B. She has never been the kind of turtle to pay a lot of attention to her wheels. As long as she was going places and not getting stuck in the middle of the road, she was content with whatever vehicle she drove. That's all true, at least until the day the Big BOX turtle called her wheels a 'clunker'. Yes, a clunker. That's exactly what He said. B looked up 'clunker' in the dictionary. It is an old, worn-out vehicle or machine. Now B was fully aware her van had a slight patina finish. The new car smell had long been replaced by Mcfries. But now her 'older vehicle' had turned into a clunker in the eyes of the Big BOX turtle and HERS. What was she going to do?

The B's began shopping around for a replacement, checking out the features and benefits of several cars. One day B sat in a PILOT. Her search ended when her hands gripped the wheel. This was it. She wanted this SUV badly, but the shell price was a little hefty for her budget. Being a good shopper, she decided to buy a slightly used model to help with the cost. She knew exactly what she wanted. A 2007 white PILOT with tan leather, a sun roof, and a DVD player would be nice for the younger turtles, but not necessary.

That was a tall order evidently because the turtle dealership couldn't find one. B became obsessed. She was doing some major googling over a PILOT. It became the focus in B's days. Where was her PILOT?

There is another important part of B's story you need to know today. She loves Jesus. Eight years ago He rescued her from the murky waters of her pond. Her life's focus has been about Him ever since. One day between googling and thinking about her PILOT, B was reading her daily devotional. The first line in her devotional said, "I AM your pilot." B was stunned as those words pierced her heart. The focus on a 'shell' that would one day rust was trying to take the #1 spot in B's heart.

B was crushed. She repented immediately. She knew she had to let go of the wheel because it had a grip on her heart. B talked to the Lord about this shell issue. She decided she would stick to her old white van. Months went by and she knew she had made the right decision. B really didn't want anything the Lord did not order. Then one day, out of the blue, B felt a nudge to look at a turtle dealer's web site a couple of hours from her pad. She had never thought of stopping by this place. She typed in the word "PILOT". A 2007 white PILOT with tan leather, sun roof, and a DVD popped up on the screen with a great shell price. The dealer had just gotten in this car. She knew who directed her to this site. Her footsteps were being ordered by 'THE PILOT'. B called the Big Box turtle on his cell. Would you believe the Big Box turtle was traveling through this town in less than 30 minutes?

B's photo tells the ending of this story today. B is stuck on THE PILOT, not the shell. She learned a lot from this clunker story. She never wants to trade in THE PILOT for another way to go. He is the only way. Yesterday she thought it was verrrry interesting when Chatty Kelly asked the question in her post, "Who's Your Pilot?" It confirmed the post B was considering sharing today. Kelly and I have the same PILOT!

Take time with that question today. "Who's Your Pilot?" If Jesus is your PILOT, you are sure to land in a heavenly place. Oh....B almost forgot to add a bumper sticker to this post 'Honk if you LOVE JESUS'!!!!!!

  1. Well, I must say that is a pretty fancy shell. I know you must be happy to have it.

But I'm glad you know the REAL pilot, and remember his words in Matthew 6:19,20: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

    Great post!

  6. Laura beat me to it... Honk! Honk!

This is a fantastic story B. God gave me my last two vehicles in interesting ways also, and both were far more than I had prayed for. He is the BEST Pilot!

  7. Great post! I love the way you spun the whole PILOT concept - we definitely need Him to be our pilot, otherwise we find ourselves in lots of crashes. :)
