Turtle Tuesdays: B Remembers

This is Holy Week for B and maybe for you too. She reflects on some of its meaning on this Turtle Tuesday.

Meet B, the spotted turtle.

As you can see B has a variety of spots. They run in the family. These spots symbolize the life of sin she led. She conformed to the the pattern of the world, making the same mistakes over and over. Today she remembers the price paid to remove these spots from her life.

The stick pins remind B that she hasn't always had a soft shell for God. She was hard hearted and stiff necked. She walked in her own ways for years. Now she wants to be like soft clay in the potter's hands. B wants to be available for God to use.

B gets low on the floor today, humbling herself before the Lord. She can never thank Jesus enough for shedding His blood for her. He did the same to wash away your spots too. We are family. He gave me this word for you and me today . 'Remember Me.'

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to
reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by
making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated
from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now
he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you
holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue
in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the
gospel. Col 1:19-23

  1. The scary part about our hard shell--hard heart--is that it doesn't happen overnight, it just takes one rebellious, turning away from God decision after another.

    Have a good day, barbara!

  2. Oh the price that He paid to remove the *spots* from my life! To be soft and pliable in the Potter's hands and to realize there is a fellowship of His suffering.

"But now He has reconciled you by Christs' physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation" Praise You Lord!

  5. Holy is He!

He knew we'd have spots, didn't He? And yet He came to show His love and forgiveness anyway.

    Oh, how I love Him!
    And I love His B.

    Hugs,

    Tiffany

  8. Oh- as soon as I saw the spotted turtle today I knew where you were going with it and it brought back memories for me too!

When I was just 8 years old - my older sister sat on the bed with me one night and told me about my heart. She said that it had lots of black sin spots on it from the bad things that I had done. Then she told me that Jesus' blood could wipe it all clean and make it white again! I didn't receive Christ until 7 years later---- but I never forgot that illustration and when the lightbulb finally did go on - it all made sense! Oh - how precious God is to "ready us" for His salvation!

Praise Him this Holy Week! And... I loved the verse you chose here!

    Looking UPward and Choosing JOY,

  9. I was thinking about being conformed and transformed today too. I made some chocolate cross lollipops for my grandaughters for Easter and was thinking about how the chocolate began as hard chips that would not have been transformed into the likeness of the cross until it had been heated and turned to liquid first.

    God bless!
